dandelion 1968

as a child i had a white cat in Texas i called Dandelion after a childrens book back then. when my dad came home from the war we moved back to california and have always wanted a white cat. in 2007 i found a homeless kitten covered in oil in a Kragen auto parking lot. it was dying its ears badly sunburned. i bathed in in a little dishwashing soap and water and it turned brownish gray. the cat is deaf and green eyed ie taught it some signs it meows loud but ive never had a relatioship so close as this cat. the little guy is now 4 years old and has turned into a giant of a cat. he will not go outside . his choice. i named him Freddie after the popstar Mr Mercury of Queen fame.

Hi White Cat Deaf

Enjoyed your stories of your cats ... just had to write to say you have a "hearing ear dog" (like a seeing eye dog for a blind person.) That's pretty neat!

Mr. Freddie Cat
by: Yvonne,Texas

Hi Lorre,
I enjoyed your story of Dandelion. It's interesting that Freddie learned to sign language. It's amazing! I think you are smart and a kind person to show such talent and skills for Mr.Freddie.I have a white deaf cat I call Jenibelle and just the other day she ran between my legs and I lost my balance and hit the wall scraping skin off my arms. Jenibelle never done this before. When I got my wits together I turned to look for her. I was so upset with Jenibelle and I found her sitting in the living area on her back looking at me upside down. I hollored and shook my finger at her and realized she can hear a word I'm saying. What a waste of my breath.LOL Maybe I should teach my Jenibelle sign language not to behave like that again. I'm curios to know what sign language skills you taught Mr.Freddie.

Hi Lorre,

Thank you for sharing your memories of Dandelion (a unique and lovely name). I'm glad you've found a wonderful companion in Freddie. It's amazing how you've been able to teach him sign language. I wouldn't know where or how to start! I wish you both a long and happy life.

Claudia
