A ray of sunshine

(Malden, MA)

I am a newly adopted mommy.

I was looking for a cat as a companion for my new home. I was reading Kitty Connection in Malden on the internet and saw this beautiful white cat named Sunshine.

Sunshine was found as a stray and was abused from the kids in the street.

One day a good samaritan noticed this and kept in eye on him. This was in Alston Mass about a year or so ago.

The man noticed the cat was a grayish color, but didn't think he was gray, in fact, he was white, yet because he was living in the streets, his coat was mess from the dirt, and grease from the outside.

The man finally said that enough was enough and coaxed the cat into his car with some cat food.

They took him home and named him Sunshine. Sunshine then went to the vets and was a clean bill of health and already was fixed.

The man was stationed to Iraq a few months ago and sunshine was again getting tested for a new home.

I saw the ad online and wanted to meet him, took him all of 5 minutes to snuggle up to me. I adopted him about 2 months ago and he is the best thing in my life. He loves Roast Beef and gravy, snuggle time, sun soaking naps, and just being in a nice big warm home.

It warms my heart to know that there are people like you who will give stray animals a chance to find a loving home. You are a blessing for bringing joy and happiness to Sunshine.I have a white cat I call Jenibelle and she is totally deaf with blue eyes. I found her in the newspaper for free.I watch over her all the time and make sure she doesn't slip outside. She wears a harness when I take her outdoors and she loves taking baths. She is so funny and amazing. I love my feline friend. Thanks for sharing Sunshine story and its truly amazing that you two found each other. Happy new year to you and Sunshine.

Sunshine Makes Me Happy!
by: Jean from Tennessee

What a GREAT story! I have been adopted by a homeless white cat too and I was thrilled to see your story of Sunshine. You have sunlight in your life 24/7 now. I have starlght in my life now 24/7 -- my white cat is named Star and her story in on this website too. And I echo Claudia's request that you send us some pictures of Sunshine.

P.S. Go to the cartoons and check out the Solar Powered Cat Nap: your white cat and mine must be in on the same sunbeam.

Love your cat story
by: Claudia - Admin

Hi Diane,

Thank you for sharing your lovely cat story. I feel so bad for stray and feral cats. Their lives are so hard. You (and the man who rescued Sunshine) are true angels for these cats. I'm so glad that Sunshine has found a loving home and I'm sure he's brought lots of cheers to your life.

Thanks for sharing!

P.S. - I'd love to see Sunshine's pictures.
